1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Block ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Parents/guardians accepting on behalf of children represent they have authority to do so.

2. Description of Service

Block is a parental control application that:

  • Monitors app usage on children's Android devices
  • Requires reading practice to unlock blocked apps
  • Tracks reading progress and provides analytics
  • Allows parents to manage settings remotely

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create a parent account. Children using the app on their devices must have parent/guardian consent and supervision.

4. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All activity under your account
  • Keeping your PIN secure from your child
  • Ensuring your child's device is properly configured

5. Subscription and Payments

Block offers paid subscription plans. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled. Refunds are handled according to Lemon Squeezy's refund policy.

6. Enforcement Modes

Block offers two enforcement modes:

  • Full Control (MDM): Requires factory reset and device enrollment. Provides complete app blocking and uninstall prevention.
  • Lite Mode: Works on any device. Shows reading prompts when blocked apps are opened, but children can dismiss prompts.

We do not guarantee children cannot bypass restrictions. Parental supervision remains important.

7. Prohibited Uses

You may not:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Install Block on devices you do not own or control
  • Use Block for surveillance of adults without consent
  • Attempt to circumvent our security measures
  • Reverse engineer or modify the application

8. Intellectual Property

Block and its content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without permission.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Children cannot find ways to bypass restrictions
  • Reading scores accurately measure reading ability
  • Speech recognition will always work correctly

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR DAMAGE TO DEVICES.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time through the dashboard or by contacting support.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
